    80" hardtop fitment

Can someone please put up a photograph showing the actual fitting of a hardtop to the windscreen section of an early S1 with the 'waterpipe' type of screen frame. I don't know whether the early 107s were similar as I am unsure when the "pipe" windscreen frames were phased out.
Any shots from the inside looking upwards, especially towards the clamp fitting to the screen frame and any rubber fitted would be greatly appreciated.
We are now to the stage of refitting glass and rubber seals, and actually mounting the hardtop properly to Sweet-pea. So far we have transported the roof section to and from Harry's place for painting using only the four body corner bolts.

I drover her down to Canungra on the weekend without any roof and in the drizzle I noted that she leaks UNDER the windscreen as well as the rain pouring in through the lack of roofing material! But at least I got a chance to use the wiper.
    Regards
    Glen

There is an expanded foam rubber seal that sits between the roof and the top rail of the screen. You could probably use a section of EDPM sponge seal from Clark Rubber. They have some 25mm x 32mm which would be close to what you need.

Will have to check the manual, however IIRC the tab that holds the top rail over the door of the soft top is also used for holding the hard top. There is a little bird in my head telling me there should be a link made of 1" flat bar with a hole at each end, which goes between the roof and the tab on the windscreen. Will let you know tonight.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Hi Glen

There should also be a seal under the screen. Chris klein had some formed a few years ago and Dunsfolds Land Rover in the UK also had it in stock. I have also seen people use pinchweld with side bulb also from Clark Rubber. "Pinchweld EDPM extra large bulb."

I just picked up some foam and stuff for work from Complete Rubber in Fairfield Melbourne. I had a look at their seals they have the same as this in stock. I wish they had the door seals but no luck there.

That's why our other roads cost so much. Down here, we have Comerong Island at the mouth of the Shoalhaven River, there are 3 houses on the island and the ferry is free.

BTW: The island was made when David Berry had a canal dug to give his sailing ship "Coolangatta" permanent access from his homestead on the base of Mt Coolandgatta to the sea through Crookhaven Heads, without David Berry and that ship you wouldn't have a Coolangatta in Queensland.
