I tend to think that if they've cracked hen they must be doing something and working hard. Personally, I would change the entire spring because I'd be thinking what else has become marginal and what are the consequences if the part fails.
trying to sort the front springs and rubbers on my 107" which is going to be used on my property at coverty.
both the eyes are broken on the rear of the front springs.
they look like they attach to the second top leaf?
what am i best doing?
getting a second hand pack or just replace those leaves?
do they do much?
then the shackle rubbers....
both rear shackles and pins aare as new ...
i just need to replace the rubbers front and rear of the springs and in the chassis on the rear shackles.
whats the best solution there these days?
548205 x 4 for the spring shackles
and 569746 x 2 for the chassis bushings?
or ?
is there a superpro kit that makes the lot easy?
TIA
(i need to get this one mobile so i can get it up to wattlemere and make room for my 80")

what is the best way to proceed with new bushes these days?
are there superpro kits avail for the front of these?
or am i better sticking to the original style bushes but have heard lots of stories of the not lasting long so am a bit perplexed with what way to turn...

Afraid I gave up on standard bushes some years ago. I am now a firm polybush user, last just as long and so much easier to replace when the time comes.
Cheers
Poly bushes on a series one is an offence that calls for capital punishment to be reintroduced. Especially if they are bright yellow.

Yes. As long as you use blue underbody neons too.
If you use good quality bushes from a trusted supplier (ie not britpart ones) and tension and lubricate pins as necessary the original bushes last a long time. Main killer of the original style bushes is people tightening shackle pins with no weight on the suspension, then when you Lower the vehicle the bushes are loaded up already and soon destroy themselves.
