    Searching for a S1?

    G'day folks.
After some info/advice on what the best way to search for a Series 1 is?
I'm trying to find my grandmothers old S1, she thinks it was either a 1950/51 model, although it could have been a 49 as she remembers it as being one of the very early ones.
    Rego number was TU 977
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Cheers

If you go to your motor vehicle registry place, they should be able to tell you the history of the plate, and perhaps the last place it was registered to with that registration.

That all depends on how willing they are to part with information, but it's probably not a bad place to start?

    Hi Cameron,

The first (yolk) yellow NSW number plates in the then new, but short-lived "National" system "AAA 000" to about - "EZZ 999" (F plates were for trucks) were issued in 1951 so your grandmother's Land Rover with the numberplate TU 977 would have been issued prior to 1951.

NSW Plate TU 977 is not currently registered.

(This is a new online service offered by the RMS. If you want to check a plate - Go here and fill in the details: https://www.myrta.com/wps/portal/ext...YzTRJegMDHStg/ )

    Hi Bob.
Cheers for that, haven't had any luck doing a variety of rego checks.
Apparently it was the first Land Rover in Grenfell.
    Cheers
