I already have a Aeroparts capstan, plate and a alloy block for the guide. But I still need the fairlead, engine plates and all the drive line.
I could set to and make them like some have done though.

Another thing someone could help with, is the length of the short crank handle, what is the measurement from the centre of the bend in the handle to the centre of the dog engaging pin?
I have a series one crank handle here that has been lengthened in the past and it would be easy to shorten down to do the job.

It was my alloy block that you copied - great job.
About six different tradesmen helped in the creation of all the copies of my early S1 Capstan components. Both Diana and I put in countless hours and travelling and her money to make it happen. We also made some Series 2.25 engine components - I had about seven incomplete engine bracket sets and four later capstan winches - since sold but still have some bits to sort through.
The cost of the of work involved was many thousands of dollars and it will never be recovered because of the non-payers and the sixty incorrect (but paid for) plates were binned before they were done right. That is why we recently decided to sell the excess completed mount sets to try and recover some costs.
In the new year other components will be welded up in the jig as Diana mentioned.

I know what thats like . I used to make S1 bump bars but the buyer had to supply there old crank handle plate . I sold them for $80 galav. Trouble was they were happy to pay the $80 but nobody ever came forward with the plates after I gave them the Bars. I nad about 6plates off old bent bars I had bought , once they run out i kept the incomplete bars for abour 3 years then sent them for scrap .:mad:

She had originally bought some from the UK but they were incorrect and as I had two (of the three) original plates and we were able to borrow the other to have accurate laser copies made (after the first rubbish batch were profile cut with holes out of position and inconsistently folded) and our friend the welder made up the jig to assemble them.
Every component was replicated, even two of the harmonic balancer special centres that were also never paid for. As these had to be machined, hardened and then ground you can imagine the cost.
All the other kits had a different drive design that was used by the SMA and the machinist who did the work had worked there in the workshops and knew exactly what to do. He has since retired.
Our welder friend has made batches of replicas of all the versions of the Series 1 bumper bars, the centre plate and either spot welded or welded it to the different bar types. As a fabrication company they have to charge GST which is around $20 and you cannot believe how many people want that knocked of the price.
