Stub axle bush
Hey all,
Im after some advice on the stub axle/half shaft in my series 1. (55)
I stripped the swivel hub down and found that both this bronze bush, and the land on the half shaft are very worn.
I then read this thread which basically says it can be ignored - http://www.aulro.com/afvb/series-ii-...axle-bush.html
Is this correct?
It makes sense, especially if Rover themselves phased out the item - and it sure would be good not to have to replace them.
Cheers
Ash

The presence of the bush actually weakens the stub axle, many stubs have broken because of them over the years.
You do need them on the SIII/Stage 1 CVs and probably the 80" Tracta Joint CVs.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Yeah I have just been ready this thread too - 217354 bush for front stub axle
Thanks for the reply, I think I will leave it "as is" and think about it if I ever break a half shaft/stub!
