The chap who owns this swb rang me this evening, he found me somehow. It is a 1956 86 inch truck cab minus its lid, chassis no. 177600933. Anyway he is offering it to me for sale. I have no idea what his $ expectations are but he has sent me a dozen photos and I think it is worth my while to go and have a look.
It has somehow found its way from Cassilis in NSW to South Australia.
Nice looking jigger, but the owner has really butchered it with how that suspension has been modified. That also has chassis implications also. I just cant see how that could be made roadworthy if thats what you're eventually thinking unless you get in to some cutting and fabrication amd remanufacture how the suspension mounts to the chassis. Likewise, whats he done with the cross members to make the propshafts clear the chassis.
Cheers Slunnie

Yes - the chap mentioned the "lift kit" before he sent the photos. It is obviously an undesirable feature and may cause some headaches. But I'll go and have a look anyway and see how it can be dealt with. Struggling to see how I am going to fit it in today though!
Another pic for you Digger. Yes it would fill an obvious gap. I rang the guy back today as I didn't have time for the 2+ hour trip with the other priorities like building a shed for the Land Rovers while the weather is still ok. Anyway he has offered it to two other people people and it is a case of who puts the best offer in. To be honest I didn't like his attitude. I suspect he thinks S1 people will just shell out silly money. It won't put me off having a little go at it.
