Gentlemen,
My 75mph speedometer from my 80" Series 1 has a broken hair spring and I have been quote $350 to restore its function. I would still need to do a cosmetic restoration on top of that, which means it is going to end up being crazy expensive. Speedo.jpg
Does anyone who where i can buy a NOS or restored unit?
thanks in advance
Jeff

Which speedo doese your 80" have large or small , speedo in 54 on has the large speedo & will not fit an 80" . By thre time the one you bought arives will be about same price as getting your old one done.
You need to find one with the same numbers on the face as your old one.
Bugger!!!
Mine is close to 60mm in diameter, so I assume that is considered small.
Yes, balancing the cost is always an issue. However $350 for repair the spring and get it work, then a new dial, new needle and new bezel will all add up to a lot.
Make you wonder why we do this sometimes.
The one in my 80" is around 60MM also. the one you have bought says it is for S1 54 to S2 so i would presume it will be around 100mm dia. Is it too late to pull out of the sale on Ebay. The type that you bought i had 3 new ones & just gave the last of them away a couple of months ago. ( that's rubbing salt in isn't it )
If not you may be lucky & once it gets to Australia Post it will go into the Black Hole more commonly known as Aust Post & you will can go back to Ebay & get your money back. I recently bought some thing from O/S , it had tracking until AP received it . After waiting 2 months Ebay gave me my money back . It just arrived yesterday after doing the rounds with AP for 4 months. Now i have to work out how to pay the guy , I don't like seeing people out of pocket when it is not there fault.
