    Roamer Overdrive in an S1

    Hi all,

Just finished fitting a Roamer Overdrive to my 56 88". The unit fitted easily. The only step requiring modifications is when you fit a dip stick to the transfer case. The supplied fitting is for a S2A/3 which have an oil level plug on the side which has a square shape. In the S1, the plug is 1/8th BSP and I fitted an adaptor from 3/8th female NPT reduced to 1/8th BSP to the elbow. The only mod was to make the hole in the tunnel (for the gear shift) a little larger than 50mm. I presume the tunnel on a S1 is a little different than an S2/3. I also fitted the optional aluminium transfer case cover plate. Will test-drive on the weekend. The supplier in Australia is Australian Yacht Winch Pty Ltd in Galston NSW. Total cost was $3,200.
