I was looking for something to do blinkers etc with as the horn arm is where the magnatex would normally go, my father says that he recalls just a plain 3 way toggle switch on the horn arm was apparently common.

I have seen that with the three way switch mounted on an angle off the end of the horn bracket and also the horn bracket flipped to the other side of the column so that the magnatex or other cancelling blinker switches were fitted on the opposite side.

Some other vehicles had trafficator switches on the steering wheel. This requires a hollow steering column (as fitted to 80" and early 86"/107") so the wires can go through the turning wheel. Some off-steering wheel car trafficator switches are also self-cancelling by timer or vacuum.

A fairly simple angle bracket made so that the SE100 trafficator is vertical can be mounted to the side of the Land Rover windscreen. You don't need the blocks - they were for the SE62 trafficators on 80" windscreens, although I have see some SE100s with adapted brackets fitted.

Apparently its got the early sideplate engine. Worth buying for that, swap for later engine and sell it.

I found this series 1 on ebay the seller claims that its a 88" station wagon but doesnt list a chassis number and it doesnt "look right" why i think that is the body is painted green, spare wheel mount in rear tub, no indercater switch thats fitted to the RH side if instrements & rear seats are the wrong type, the correct rear seats should be a set of 4 indvidusal seats not 2 large ones! Its got lower tailgate fixing chains too.

This is a hard one as there is nothing in chassis numbers that identify station wagons.

Most of the issues I noticed have already been picked up. Main issue is body colour - most unlikely to be bronze green but I have seen a restored 86 inn Vic that is this colour. I could accept grey or at a pinch teal blue.

Has a station wagon badge on the front - top seems the real thing but I cannot gauge the back door - yes the rear chains should not be there. There is no indication that the indicator switch panel has ever been there. Rear seats are not there but after 50 years these could have been changed.

In an other tread we have been discussing hardtop colour - have come to the conclusion it should be the same colour as the body and only the tropical should be white - however having said that my hardtop is white all over.

There are no pics of the the cab trim which would gave given the real clues.

I have asked the seller to provide more pics.

On balance - I do not think it is a genuine station wagon - but you never know - it also has floating rear axles.

I think most if not all series 1s built in 1958 had fully floating axles, as my old 1958 88" soft top had them :D

I thought it was only the 109s but I bow to superior knowledge on such things.
