The mesh front sound like the ones up to mid 1950 build although could be talking up to the end of 1951.

When we are talking about these early ones, pics are great but numbers are better - as many numbers* as you can get!

If a Grenville Motors NSW vehicle, we may even be able to share some information on them for you.

Well the trip produced 3 series 1's but not as I was hoping But then - you've gotta be in it to win it they say.

Anyway I did see a pretty good 1952 series 1 (80") that I am thinking about:


It seems to be in pretty good knick with front springs gone, dents (as expected) and in need of a lot of TLC.



Has the original motor with a leaky water pump but it does go.



Any comments or discussion on this one would be welcome as I can have it for $500. As I want one - but know very little about them, I am all-ears.

Now For The Wrecks

Two (what I make out to be) 1955 86" vehicles. The bronze one was bought for parts to get the blue one going. And now we have them left where the worked stopped some time ago. Both axle housings and suspension etc from the rear have been removed and never swapped over. I am guessing that he just got 'jack' of it




The motor in the blue one was rebuilt some years ago and is the best of the 3 Landy's:



There are a heap of spares (ignore the hood bow as I have already grabbed it), wheels and doors and stuff.

The bloke wants $600 for the lot of this stuff but would be prepared to split it up and consider other offers. If anyone is interested you can pm me.

And now for the best bit - he knows of a local fella who has a heap of series 1's that he may be happy to part with, is onto some PTO stuff for me and to top it off has a mate with a 2A SWB Fire Tender in a shed doing nothing. This one has gotta be checked out....

the 80" looks as good as I would expect to find these days.

The 86" (multiple) are less attractive as there are still a few about. althought if you placed the axle under it and placed some wheels and tyres on it the one with the hard cab looks as thought it could have some life breath back into it.

One thing about collecting, you have to be where the collectables are and as for LRs that is in the country.

Thanks all - I am only interested in the 80" and may see if he will consider less for it yet.

As I have enough spares for the moment the other two are up for grabs by anyone else; he will split them and (as I told him), may have to be prepared to go a lot less to part with them.

Was there any three point linkage on the International tractor.........

On the engine front all the important difficult to acquire bits like the air cleaner to carby bits are there. The cyclonic pre-filters are still available as replacements for Fergy tractors.

I would be considering the Solex carbs and any of the bakelite horn centres off the others if they are going to the scrappers.
