D Tail Lights - Same as FJ Holden?

Showed a friend of mine the attached photo of a D tail light.

He is a serious Holden collector and has numerous models. He tells me the FJ had a very similar (if not the same) light adjacent to number plate. (I saw one on an FJ ute in the vertical "D" position.)

He seemed to think it was Lucas product on the Holden also.

I was orginally thinking they'd look good on Olute but I'm told the '55 107" would have had the round "pork pies".

Given the rarity and expense of D lights I thought this might be of interest if your looking for some D's.

Yes same Lucas animal as on the 48 215 and FJ utes and panel vans.

Used up to 1955 on Land Rover

£52.00 for 1 each + shipping rear lamp ST51 :: Vintage Car Parts

But unfortunately these are not the "pork pie" lamps used on the later Land Rovers

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

The correct pork pie tail lights will set you back about $400 to $500 NOS if you can find them.

Yes they do but only in the UK and you have to join the Land Rover Series One Club and buy them from their shop.

Membership is UK£29. and "The Legend" magazine is worth all of that. A pair of repro pork pie lamps from the Club Shop will then cost you UK£150 plus shipping. I did hear that they were only doing a limited batch.

It well worth the subscription - and also lots of reproduction parts available.

    All the best

Including reproduction Car ID and Transfer box instruction plates. But you have to have some form of government identity paper - the Rego papers being ideal.

    Hi there Diana

Maybe we should do a bulk order for electric "D" lights from the UK - as I also need 4 off (the ones I have are not worth repairing).
