    G'day Col Colman

The chassis No on the 107 would be as Alex posted, and correct, the rear trayback would be the original built by Athol Hedges in Brisbane for Annand & Thompson, as they did all A&T's traywork, A & T imported their vehicles directly from UK as well as drawing some from Aust CKD production later, there should be a flat plate that fits on that lower front right guard where the bright yellow paint is, that had a stencil "Land-Rover" that was only fitted by A & T, also that bright yellow would indicate that it was ex Dept Civil Avaition, over painted on the Bronze Green, but remaining green inside, then the plate was attached, it probably served it's time in Brisbane Airport, or regional(Toowoomba) then sold/gifted on to Bush Fire Brigade as is/was often the case, the motor with the head off looks like a 2 litre Siamese bore jobbie, and not the later spread bore 2 litre, but the Series 1 gurus will know that, all series 1 chassis have the curved firewall outrigger, where the later 2/2a/3 had a straight outrigger, all chassis parts are available as replacement rust repair parts ex UK,and some 2/2a/3 chassis rust repair parts are available from the Mob in Melbourne, I hope that is of some help to you.
BTW I have Series 1 86/88 and 107/109 master parts catalogue here at home if you need IDing stuff, and that is a VERY nice late suffix "G" SWB 2a, got master parts books for that too The OKB rego plate dates at about 1966/7

    cheers

    THEY'RE ALIVE!!!!

Mucked around with the 109 and the 2a today. Supposed to be tidying up

My brother in law came over as his mitsi was being serviced down the road, and to check out all the stuff he had heard I brought home. So after a cup of coffee and a bit of show and tell I thought, hey why not try and start them.

So off down the road we went with a few jerry cans and got some nice fresh premium fuel. Came back, dumped some fresh stuff in the tanks, no leaks. Tipped a bit down the carby, hooked up a fresh battery and whammo. Both of them fired into life straight away. The 109 will only idle. But it goes. After some more messing about with the 2a, we got the clutch and brakes going again, and now she drives.

Harry is a bit grumbly though so a fluid investigation is in order. He also has a leaking water pump, but that is to be expected.

So that is 4 out of 5 landies running, 3 driveable, 2 registered, and 1 project.

    Happy so far

    CC

Great stuff Colonel C., You've got some lovely vehicles there.

But seriously, when are you free to come look?

Are you kicking yourself now you didn't investigate that sign earlier?

Oh yeah, what will be left on Thomas' chassis that is useable after the swap, or are you just chopping the rear crossmember off? Looking for a few chassis bits

G'day All, Getting back on track here, the tool kit you posted is the real deal, King Dick are English spanners, I have a full Land Rover kit for a Series 3 and it is identical to yours, the smaller box spanner and tommy bar (very left of the set) are usually missing from the sets because most vehicles were sold with H/top, the only difference between yours and the S3 set is the tool roll, mines a vinyl?/plastic affair, and yes your cahssis is very much a Series 1 but now you know that anyway, cheers Dennis
