Resurrecting an old thread, but I found this sticker on an 88" 2A wreck that I have. It is a suffix B and CalVIN tells me it is a 1963-66 era manufactured vehicle. Original colour is yellow too, so perhaps the original purchaser was DCA, or some other government dept.

Hello All,
A further resurrection of an old thread. I had a look around my latest acquisition a 2A short wheel base made in 1970 and it has a black background with silver writing metal plate pop riveted on to the firewall shelf just off to the left of the steering column.
There is a brass plate on the same shelf located close to the driver's door. It is too dark to read it or photograph both plates at the moment. I will try photographing them in day light and I will post them up.
It is good to have a plate that identifies where the vehicle was first sold from. I suppose the 1974 floods would have ruined any paper work that captured the information about who the first owner's were.

In that period the Department of National Development, I believe, was buying Landrovers and assigning them to a variety of Commonwealth departments and agencies, including DCA, OTC, and BMR, but other less well known ones as well. And they were all yellow, having changed to yellow from rescue orange in about 1956. PMG (not a major Landrover user) got their own, in red.Quote:
