Its been around since jesus was a boy .. its meant for cracks in your block and head .I suspect its only a temporary fix .Ive never used it . its a small bottle of STUFF , you pour it into the coolant and it seals the cracks etc.

there is specific stuff for coolant leaks ..BARS LEAKS etc. it works for a while ..but isnt permanent ..it'll get you home . I had a 1941 Ford truck with a radiator that leaked like a seive ..I used to pour BARS LEAKS into it almost daily ..I must have kept that company going by myself ..BTW a recore was about $800 ( quoted price ) and that was 20 years ago.

Chemi-weld is available from most auto parts shops. It seals small leaks superbly well and in my experience has been as permanent a fix as one could hope for i.e. in the engines I have used it in, I have never had to reapply it.

Bars leaks works well on larger leaks and has the advantage of being able to be left in the cooling system permanently, whereas Chemi weld needs to be drained once it has done its job. I suspect Chemiweld may work on the V8 slipped-liners problem but I have yet to try it for that.

As Mike points out it is a darn sight cheaper to try a chemical such as these, rather than strip an engine and replace parts and if doesn't work you only lose a few dollars trying

Go to CBC bearings and buy a new mechanical seal
