    RTMs

I've seen a few threads mentioning Dunlop Road Trak Major crossply tyres, and rumors that they are still around as NOS if you know where to ask.

So does anybody know where there might be some - 6.00 or 6.50x16 version - and are they likely to be any good after decades(?) in storage?

    Thanks

    D

I know you can still buy RTMs new in 750 x 16 not sure if you can still get them in the smaller sizes.

Thanks Chris - all I need to do now is get lucky like you!

There is a pair for sale on ebay right now - but not much use without a couple more to match. It's starting to look like a long shot.

    Cheers

You can definitely buy 7.00 x 16's new (well 18months ago you could), not sure about 6.00's or 6.50's though. They have increased to 8-ply from the original 6-ply and are now made in Indonesia.

    Anyone Interested In Tyres

Just ask your local tyre dealer for Dunlop RTM's and they should be able to find them. Shop around though because prices vary.......

Spoke to the tyre place I use today and RTM's have been discontinued (at least in 7.00x16).
He is looking into sourcing 6.50x16's from an Indian company.

I have an unused 7.50x16 RTM which is surplus to requirements - anyone interested should contact me - I could bring it to the Expo.

I've been digging around for authentic 600 x 16 bar tyres for my S1, and stumbled on the attached website. NSW company, but haven't phoned them yet, selling Firestone bar tyres. I like the look, but expect them to be expensive...

I spoke to a sales man at Goodyear at Acia Ridge earlier this year & he said that he can get the 600 x 16 bar treads for around $110 ea & can get 750 X 16, though there made in India.
