I bought these yesterday, "GRANDTOUR" 700x16 8 ply made in China.
Cost $155.00 each plus $ 30 for tubes. They do 750x16 for $175 each.
They came from our local Continental dealer.
Cheers

"More recently the club has imported a number of 'Trakgrip' tyres"
Taken from the "Land Rover Register 1948 - 1953" shop site. They don't actually claim to have any at the moment. I don't know how long ago it was either. I'd say that the import into Australia happend more than 5 years ago.
Having seen the tyres on an 80" I know that it wasn't a "should have been here yesterday, the fish were jumping into the boat" story.
You would have to raise about $40k to get a container load into the country. I don't see myself raising that sort of money in the very near future.

Good find, Didiman
I assume these are crossplies? I am looking at something similar in 6.00 x 16, called 'Journey' - same tread pattern going by the photos. Please post some more photos once you've got them on, and let us know how they are to drive on - road noise, tracking etc. Seems some people have strong opinions about crossplies vs radials.
Cheers
Yes Crossplys, going on a 109 58 ute , may be a while yet before it is on the road.

Came across this today on the 'Deestone' tyres website.
DEESTONE
Looks a lot like the old Dunlop Roadtrak Major? No 6.00 or 6.50 though.
Deestone have agents in Aust so might be available on request?

						Hi Wayne
No price and I won't be chasing one - be a different story if they had it in 6.00 or 6.50x16 but website only lists 7.50x16 which is a bit big for mine.
They do list a 6.00x16 with 'super gripper' type tread though, so will see if I can get a get a price on those.
Others have talked about sourcing RTMs in the past, so posted this in case anyone was interested. Any dealer who carries Deestone tyres should be able to quote on them.
Cheers

						Saw that one too, Chazza
Have a look at the D502 also - that comes in 6 x 16
Have asked for prices for both.
They don't seem to do a 6 x 16 in the RTM look-alike though - sadly
