    Gearbox mount brackets.

My mate with a 107 wagon was here today. We were looking at my collection and noticed that 86,s and 107,s dont have the gearbox mount brackets with 'ears' to mount the 'wedges' for one piece mounts. Whereas the 88,s and 109,s do. This is on the crossmember, was this in anticipation of the 2l diesel,. Both the short and longs have the 2l petrol and the two piece rubber mounts. This leaves the ears with the two bolt holes unused on the 88 and 109.
Now his 107 wagon has the ears on the brackets, and he has fitted the one piece rubber mount. I said he should have the 2 piece mount, but we dont know if the 107 wagon should have these ears or not. Were wagons different to the pickups in this respect, or has the wrong crossmember been fitted at some stage.
    Any information appreciated.

Not sure. I recently replaced the gearbox mounts on my 88, and had to remove some of the mounting bits already there and adapt the supplied mounts to suit.

I will have to crawl under my 107 and see if it is different.
