Why not just purchase a rear X-member from the UK and just get it welded in locallybut specify it is for a late "G" suffix 2a 88" from places like www.richardschassis.co.uk it might well be cheaper in the long run to do it that way.
Hope that is of some help
cheers
Certainly is helpful! Thanks for it. I've also just located an army 2a 88" chassis that needs a home. I think I recall something about a late2a army 88" on the remlr.com site.
Hmmm...
For info, I priced a new 109 chassis (galvinised) from Marsland in UK about two years ago. Was about 3 and a bit grand delivered to Melbourne. Exchange rate is better now but.....
I'd be looking for a donor vehicle with a decent chassis - would be cheaper. You coulld recoup some of the costs by selling of spare bits and have other spares for your rebuild. They do pop up on ebay from time to time.
Still, a nice new galvinised chassis would be nice too

If it is a late "G"suffix (lights in guard model) it would be one of a very few, send a PM to Phoenix and he should be able to clue you in
cheers
I've got one too, it's a 71 series 2a with the lights in the guards, shorty and soon to be revived!!
