    Year Model ?

Its been a while since I've been back on here, been busy working on my
    Series 2A 109".............but I've struck a snag........I've had it for over a
year and still don't know what year model it is to get it registered, so the
question is........"How do you tell what year it is" ??????????
I have the dash Plaques and the chassis number on the back left chassis
rail............but I don't know what I'm looking for, can some one give me
    a hint.........thanks in advanced !!!!

post up the chassis and (rover) engine number and someone should be able to give you a clue. Pic looks like Late 2A, possably 71 or 72.

not with a great deal of accuracy, though

Mine is purported to be somewhere between March 1963 and April 1966

Back again, here's the Chassis No. 27804409G,first 3 digits tell me that its a 109" and
the "G" tells me its a 2.25I Diesel Motor..................and it fits somewhere between
1962-1979. But it doesn't tell me exactly which Year.
Can someone else maybe answer my riddle....................???????????
    Thanks in advanced.

The "G" actually indicates design changes to the chassis itself. So this puts it between 4/69 to 10/71. What is you engine number as this will also have a suffix letter that will give you a date range to narrow it down even further.

Head lights were introduced in the guard in '69, and of course series3 started in '72

    ID from Grenville Motors records

Here is the information from the Grenville Motors records:

Veh No: 27804409G; Eng No: 27166309K; 109 Standard Diesel, arrived on "Northumberland"; Keys 920 and 709; Tyres - Olympic APL (All Purpose Lug) - on this vehicle would most likely have been 7.50x16 size; Supplied to T. H. Evans (local agent/dealer in Scone NSW) on 17.9.70.

This would make it a 1969/70 depending on the view of the RTA but in Land Rover's definition it is a 1969 model.
