Wheels will be painted next but what colour?

So I'm going to be finishing the chassis today. Once I have also painted up springs and axles the next thing on the paint list will be the wheels so we can get them on and move the car around.

    But what colour?

The intention is I'm hoping) is for the car to be limestone...the tray to be a couple of shades darker of the limestone and the roof will be white. So do I have white wheels or black wheels.

and no I'm not doing limestone wheels as I think the car will be light enough as it is..this is my concern about having white wheels is that perhaps I need black to break up the colour a bit. however I'm not sure black will be to harsh.

Personally, I think black will look like a couple of black eyes amongst the 'lightness' of the rest of it.

Conversely, white will make it look like an ambo wannabe... Is there no other choice of colour suitable (in your mind) for the body?

    Although I could be wrong

Not really because I want a light body my other 3 cars are dark green and blue.

The only other choice is desert sand but that was a military colour.

So limestone it is....besides I dont know of many ambo's that have a tray back on them

but for what its worth I was thinking more white over black

Does anyone know the colour of white used on the roof of a series? or was it limestone used on the roof?

I picked white from the 2 choices, but.... if you go to the site Drifter linked and do a series 1 in Limestone, it shows mid grey wheels. Doesn't look too bad

I note all the wheels in the link I posted are a light colour, no matter what colour scheme is selected.

You could consider silver I suppose, but it may be better to have chromed steel wheels or Sunraysias. You're probably over random suggestions now though...

I think white would be too bright.

How about an off white or a cream colour?

Considering the last paragraph of your original post, I don't know why anyone would dare vote for or suggest black or whitefor the wheels

But I'm going to be game and suggest that you paint the cab, roof and wheels all the same colour - whether that be limestone, cream, grey or whatever. IMHO the introduction of multiple colours tends to make it look like you ran out of paint and just grabbed whatever you had left over in the shed
