CC dropped up and gave a poor boy a hand and we got daddy purring like a kitten with a cuddly.
amazing what can be done with a timing light, some feeler gauges and a big shifter!
re did timing, re did tappets, checked out CC's reaction time (there aint no shortage of spark i tell ya!) and tweaked the carby.
and away it went sounding like it should have all along....
CC was on his merry way about midday and i then tackled the fuel pump problem, which i sorted enough to get the truck running on the mechanical pump but delivery seems lower than what i would have expected so i would say i am going to have to revisit it shortly.
flushed the cooling system cleaner out of the system after an hour or so of running and letting it cool.. definitely not my favourite job [bighmmm]
onto the brake pedal tower and fitting a new lwb master cyl as well as cleaning up the area of the firewall in general.
put my newly acquired guard supports on the firewall so i wouldn't lose them, thanks arthur!
stopped for lunch about 7pm [wink11]
first day in a long time where i have actually managed to get everything done that i wanted to on the vehicle on the day without taking a step or two backwards [biggrin]

Yeah it's friggin hilarious when you pull the plug leads off to check the difference while running and the sparks start jumping to the block from your watch.:D
Figured I had better make sure it ended up running nice and sweet, seeing how I told you it was a good motor when I gave it too you. Music to my ears.
