Thread: my first series 2a

Just an update on the 2a.Ive replaced all the window channels and started replacing the door seals,just by replacing the window channels it stopped most off the rattles.
Today i finally replaced the stromberg with the solex at the same time got rid of the very noisy electric fuel pump.Also replaced the starter motor today.After all that it started first go for the first time,normally takes 3 or 4 goes. and hoping for better fuel economy.I just need too adjust the doors (sitting too low),any ideas?

This is the result from previous owners not checking the oil in the wheel bearings whats left off them.

Can i ask were did you get what looks like
a new solex carby.
Have a stromberg on mine and would like to change it.
I have 2 incomplete solex, are parts available.
