    Series 2 axle strength

I have an opportunity to buy a parted out series 2 - year and condition yet to be confirmed. I am only after the diffs for another project. Will the front diff handle the weight and power of a small block chev (aprox 200hp)?
Are parts easy to find for them? And what would the diff ratio most likely be?
My other option would be using Hilux diffs for the project as LC and Patrols will be too wide.

Can't comment on the power handling capability - it depends on too many variables such as tyre diameter and weight on the front axle. But the Rover differential, dating, unless I am mistaken, from 1932, is not as strong as the others you mention.

All parts are readily available and cheap compared to alternatives. Unless it has been changed, the diff ratio will be 4.7, although this is interchangeable with 3.54 Rover diffs used on a wide variety of Landrovers and Rangerovers.

Series diffs and axles are extremely weak in comparison to any Nissota stuff made from ~1980-on.

Yes lockers are available, but series axles would be at the mottom of my list for a project.

60 Series cruiser axles are very strong, and fairly narrow. They would be my choice - gven that you have said you are constrained on width.
