To continue (computer keeps crashing just when I am ready finish this post off)

This is the firewall that was originally in the vehicle. It was replaced at some point in time. The firewall currently in the vehicle needs quite a lot of repair. i am not sure of its origin because it has a few differences including the lack of holes for the wiper spindles to pass through.

When the body was off it was apparent the chassis needed a lot of work. The rear crossmember, gearbox crossmember, front dumb irons, front crossmember and several of the outriggers needed replacing. Not being a welder, or having access to welding equipment we considered a galv chassis form the UK, but we still wanted to replace the Holden engine with a Landy engine.
We decided it was time to look for a donor.
While looking the strip down continued because the body was in very good condition.

Everything I thought I might need or could use was removed storing the remains at a mates place.

    Ready to go:

As luck would have it (and through this great forum) we heard that pop058 (Paul) had just bought an almost identical (also G suffix) SWB. To cut a long story short we bought it off Paul and got it home.
(I must also take this opportunity to give a big thanks to Paul to all his help when I picked it up as it was cold and wet and he didn't mind getting wet giving me hand).
    Home:

This one has most of the original bits still there. The story goes that it had started to be restored but then the restoration stopped and it had been sitting for an unkown period of time since.

    Our two Landys

The panels are not as straight as they look in the photos: there is a lot of bog hidden in there, and those large tyres have done a bit of damage to the underside of the tub and inside of the rear guards.

I have got the body off and the chassis looks quite good. The rear crossmember has been replaced already, though some of the welds at the join are terrible. There are also one or two other spots that need a bit of attention, but certainly much better than the other chassis.
I have just got the firewall off this one and it has also had a few repairs already. It needs some tidying up, but should be all straightforward.
I will post up some more photos as I progress.

IF you can spare one, I know someone who is looking at doing a dual tank mod on a series SWB and would be thankfull to have one of the filler neck assemblies and hose guards

    I wish I wasn't too tall for a Series. I'd love a shorty as a little run-about.

    Hi Dave
I'll look through my bits and pieces this weekend and be in touch. You don't know anyone who has a spare original carby do you? Not sure whether these ('68) had a zenith or solex carby. I would like to get rid of the stromberg.
    Cheers, Martin
