I just went out & looked to double check the rear springs.& i dont think i can just take out the bottom spring off or out that they fitted , I guess its the heavy duty one.& the next leaf does'nt have a hole in it to take the clamps if i took the bottom one off which has the clamps on it..If i need the 3 leaf set i guess i'll have to swap these for the 3s..ANY IDEAS GUYS..

Wow, I would have thought that a 4x4 spare parts supply Co. in an isolated area would have been more co-operative, JASE.

Well had a better look at the rear spring today in better light & yes there is a pin in the third leaf so can make back to a 3 leaf set..

But have had another look on the Rocky Mountain site again & it says the 4 LEAF sets are usualy fitted to the 5 door..

    Rear Springs 73591: Fourth Leaf $150.00 USD/PAIR

73591 are a heavy duty fourth leaf rear spring to be added to the 73590 used on '107' and '109' models for service where heavy loading is normal. These springs are usually fitted to five door "Safari" models. If you plan an expedition or have fitted a camper conversion on your regular '109' use these springs.

    46 kg (pair)

CAUTION:If these springs are fitted to a lighter '109' such as a canvas topped or pickup cab model, the 73591 springs can raise the unloaded bed height to the extent that modifications to the shock absorber mountings will be needed.
Parabolic springs may not be the best choice on the rear of a Land Rover such as a canvas topped or truck cab model if you want to load the truck to it's maximum rated capacity. The range or loads applied extends and compresses the supple Parabolic spring beyond the range of any shock absorber that can be fitted to the normal shock absorber mountings.

So what is the differance between a 5 DOOR SAFARI model & my 5 door.?????

I recon i'm going to have to load it up heaps just to get the driveshaft off the loop so it can be driven..

Well went out & pulled the springs out again. Took the 4th heavy duty leaf out so they are now only 3 leaf set..

With the 3 leaf set in..

This is the driveshaft after fitting them.

This is the one on the green one.

I got Karen & the kids to jump in the back but didnt seem to make much differance..

I jumped up & down on the tow hitch.
    LOOK movement

Its still rubbing heavy on it. I have'nt put the shocks on yet incase i have to take em out again , Bloody hope not tho..

Theres nothing in the back of the wagon at all has the 2 side seats in but no bottom seat cushions..Thats it.No Jack sparewheel or wheel brace NOTHING.

It might settle down a bit Jason once it is driven and the springs find their level; put a decent load in it so that the prop shaft clears the chassis, such as full sand-bags,

    Cheers Charlie

By my way of reading you have selected springs that are suited for a heavily loaded 5 door wagon, not just any old 5 door wagon.

Heavily loaded isn't a fridge and spare wheel and 150kg of drawbar weight.
Put 500kg+ in the back and let it settle.
I think you have chosen the wrong springs...

I took the 4th leaf out now so there just the standard 3 leaf set ..So you recon the 3 is all that i'll need ..The 4 leaf set is just the standard 3 leaf set with the 4th leaf added to it..Now i only have the 3 leafs in..
