Ok a small update , I ordered & paid for my RM parabolics today & the shocks Plus a RM grill..I dont understand why people say they are so dear .I got the 4 leaf rears & 2 leaf fronts all 4 procomp shocks & straps plus the grill for $1300 there going to freight it for free but i am only an hour down the road from them..

When we take the springs & shocks back that i put on it we will get a clutch for harry & the power steering box for the wagon..YAY

I started to pull some stuff off the wagon today ready for when i put the steering on after the suspension is done..
Took the bullbar off after all the wiring for the lights was taken out..

    Then found this.

Hoping that when i get them all cleaned out that i will only have to weld a new end cap on them..Jamed a screwdriver in as hard as i could but could'nt find any holes around them except the obvious front there so heres hoping ..

And the home made grill is off..

Also finished painting the badge the other day so i put it back on..Looks worth more then the car

Super crap autos has there SAAS seats on sale again so i'll go get some tomorrow or friday that way i dont have to use the ones i got for Harry..Although they are the same..

Nice to see you back at work on the vehicles Hopefully that rust stops at the front section.

Can we have another detailed "power steering" install please ? Just met a couple from england who had put a "defender power steering" set up in his series II..........along with a 300tdi

I guess i could do that again..I looked at using landy bits for the power steering but there was a lot more work involved & it was so much more expensive using landy bits , Thats why i ended up going with the toyota box.But yes i'll put up picks again..Never done one with the engine in place so should be interesting..

There is movement in the shackles when ya jump on the front of the car plus the bullbar has to go on again. But i am happy with the fronts VERY Happy..

HomeRM ProductsAbout our ParabolicsSpring FAQReviewsInternational AgentsTBATBATBAParabolic Springs

Rocky Mountain Parabolic Springs are manufactured to ISO 9002 standards. These rugged springs are produced on state of the art equipment and have advanced design features perfected over many years of supplying parabolic springs to leading truck manufacturers. The individual spring leaves are tapered, heat treated, and stress peened under load for increased strength. Bending stresses in the material are evenly distributed along the length of the leaf. There is generous contact area on all wear points, and stresses caused by drilling are minimized by having the guide straps positioned near the end of the leaves. The clamp area under the axles is kept absolutely flat to prevent preload. Spring bushings are a full 1ΒΌ inches diameter for greater flexibility and this increased curvature reduces stress in the spring eyes. Springs are supplied in pairs and packaged with correct 'U' bolts, nuts and washers needed to complete the installation.
Fitting 'Rocky Mountain' parabolic springs will raise the loaded ride height of your Land Rover by about one inch when compared to stock springs.
The use of extended shackles to raise the ride height further may create stability, and drive line problems and is not recommended. Where extended shackles are used (as in military Land Rovers) the extended axle buffer mounting must be retained to prevent overstressing the springs in maximum compression.
PARABOLIC SPRINGS will make a very significant improvement to your Land Rover and are probably the greatest single modification worth making to enhance enjoyment of the truck for you and your passengers.
Please take a moment to read the notes explaining the advantages and disadvantages of each of the spring sets in our range. If you have any further questions please contact us directly.
Please note that with improved ride and articulation there comes increased sensitivity to loading.

Front Springs 73588: All Purpose (Two Leaf) $222.00 USD/PAIR

73588 are front springs used on all models. These springs have two parabolic leaves with a military wrap on the second leaf. Like all Rocky Mountain springs they are supplied with a matching set of 'U' bolts designed to fit the Rover axle.

    20 kg (pair)
The length of these springs is carefully controlled to allow the shackles exactly the right amount of slant aft maximizing the range of travel on the spring in both directions.

    Rear Springs 73589: Two Leaf $244.00 USD/PAIR

73589 are medium duty rear springs with two parabolic leaves, used on '86' and '88' models where softer ride and maximum axle articulation are desired. If you use your '86' or '88' with two adults and their gear, use these springs. Clips positioned at the eyes prevent leaf distortion at maximum articluation. An additional pad under the lower leaf reinforces the assembly. These springs do not preclude you carrying heavier loads but you have to accept that the rear of the truck will deflect more when such loads are carried.

    25 kg (pair)
CAUTION:Two leaf rears may increase body sway if you have a Safari roof or use a roof rack as a result of the the higher center of gravity. You should concider three leaf rears for these applications and do not use these springs if you use your Land Rover for towing a heavy trailer.

    Rear Springs 73590: Three Leaf $333.00 USD/PAIR

73590 are standard duty three leaf parabolic springs. If you often load your '86' or '88' to the maximum rated load use these springs. Also use 73590 on stock '107' and '109' utility models and pickups with factory hard tops, pickup cabs, and soft tops.

    38 kg (pair)
On '86' and '88' models the 73590 spring is the correct choice if you have a Safari roof, use a roof rack, or tow a heavy trailer.
If your standard '109' has a heavy custom camper conversion or other heavy modification to the load area you may require a 73591 fourth leaf spring addition.

    Rear Springs 73591: Fourth Leaf $150.00 USD/PAIR

73591 are a heavy duty fourth leaf rear spring to be added to the 73590 used on '107' and '109' models for service where heavy loading is normal. These springs are usually fitted to five door "Safari" models. If you plan an expedition or have fitted a camper conversion on your regular '109' use these springs.

    46 kg (pair)

CAUTION:If these springs are fitted to a lighter '109' such as a canvas topped or pickup cab model, the 73591 springs can raise the unloaded bed height to the extent that modifications to the shock absorber mountings will be needed.
Parabolic springs may not be the best choice on the rear of a Land Rover such as a canvas topped or truck cab model if you want to load the truck to it's maximum rated capacity. The range or loads applied extends and compresses the supple Parabolic spring beyond the range of any shock absorber that can be fitted to the normal shock absorber mountings.
