    Air Cleaner

    Hi All,

Restoring my 1960 SWB Series 2.

I have noticed that I have some small holes (a few pin ******, and a few smaller than a 5c piece) in the bottom of my air-cleaner cylinder. Hence the reason why it won't hold any oil...

Any suggestions on how to plug the holes?

The air cleaner is the original - with surface rust which I plan to remove before I re-paint it.

I considered using "bog" - but will bog last/hold oil?
    I considered using muffler putty?
I considered lining the inside with foil but that seems a bit lazy.

The metal is quite thin so apart from the fact that I can't weld, I don't think that a patch could be welded on the bottom anyway.

I am assuming that others have had the same problem - how did you fix these holes?

As always - any help is greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    The Grey Ghost

You could try soldering a patch on once you'd stripped back to bare metal.
Personally I'd be seeking a replacement in better condition.
