Retractable Seatbelts on a 2A Tray

Fitting to a 2A was pretty straightforward

The reel mounts on the little shelf where the window panel sits on the rear panel. Both reel & top buckle mount thru the factory re-inforcing gussets

The lowest mount is the factory unit at the base of the seat box

The centre mounts were a bit of an issue as the aluminium wall is so feeble. I used VERY big re-inforcing plates

NOW for someone to do a sympathetic RWC!

looks good - do you have to go thru a rego inspection?
also where did you get the belts?
I have to do the same for mine but am about 2 years behind you

    regards

I would be inclined to simply use the Series 3 bits. Note that on the trayback the inner mounts should have straps diagonally back to the chassis. As the retractable belts were post 2a, you may need engineering approval in some states despite their being standard Landrover parts and the 2a and 3 being structurally identical in this area.

John I intended to make straps/yokes to go back to chassis for the centre mounts but I got lazy & I'm guessing/hoping that 2x150mm square pieces of 3mm gal plate will appease the tester.

    Seat belts from:

    SeatSafe Seatbelts

But they are Hemco brand and are made in Ballarat. About $300 all up for the set.

$300 for the set! dam that is expensive! I got mine from Paddock spares in UK, they were cheap as.

Although I did get other stuff with them so that cut the frieght cost down, if you know what I mean....
