If it is an early example that didn't originally have indicators fitted, then they could have been stuck either vertically or horizontally to the parker lights. I've seen them both ways - I don't think there is a right and wrong for this, but there may be a rivet counter chime in that knows more.

Nice looking project - that steel roof is very interesting and looks like someone went to a lot of trouble to fabricate it. The sides behind the doors are also home made, so you've got an interesting rig there. . Looks like it may have been a ute body that someone turned into a wagon themselves - very interesting. Will look forward to this build.

    Thumbs up

[QUOTE=discoman1824;2379518]hi all just picked up my new project a 196? series 2a. ive noticed that it has a steel roof and sides I thought all roofs were in aluminium. does anyone know if its original or after market roof cheers?

Hi, I can shed some light on the steel roof for you. It looks exactly the same as my 109 series 2a's roof and sides. It is an "Athol Hedges",(QLD) roof. Not too many survived due to rust. Mine is rusty and been patched a few times. Check out my "photo album" on here. Good luck with ur rebuild or restoration. I am converting to a soft top now with 4 wheel disc brakes. Just need to get back on my feet and get back on to it. Hope this helps.

    Cheers Rod

thanks rod for the info, I thought it was too well made to be a home made job. its in great condition with only surface rust and no rust holes even the gutters are all ok. but I will be putting an original landrover roof hopefully a tropical roof.here are more pics
