Looks to be generally quite nice.
Diesel vs Petrol.
The diesel engine is much more economical than the petrol, very flexible - but very noisy, and low powered compared to the petrol.

Hi guys, been on the forum for a bit with an L322
Now dived head first into an 1966 88" Series 2A, currently has a rebuild 186, but that will be going up for sale shortly and replaced with an original 2.25 petrol or the diesel (suggestions on what one would be appreciated)
I feel i was lucky to snap one up with very small amount of chassis surface rust and zero bulk hear rust!
There is a slight bit of "bowing" on the R/H rear quarter panel where the seat shelf mates to the body panel and the front L/H win will need a repaint to match (only very very slightly lighter)
But glad to now be in 2 sections of this forum at once, cant wait to get started! It got delivered last night!

Thanks for the replies guys!
The main purpose I'm asking about the engine is for resale reasons, is there any benefit for the diesel in this aspect? Are they more sort after?
Anyone wanting an engine swap for a 186??? hhaha
Also, would it be acceptable/beneficial to fit a ute styled roof? Im not sure how the vehicle came originally, soft or hard top? There are the larger holes on the galv edges that looks like it would take the soft top frame...just a guess though
