Thread: Matching Engine Numbers - How Important?

    Evening all,

I have recently purchased a series 3 SWB.

Looking at the numbers and some basic research, it tells a different story....

    Chassis- 943xxxxxA - identified as a S3 109" 6 cylinder
    VIN- 151xxxxx - S2 engine

Will I have trouble with registration for this? Like the mentioned before, I am aiming to keep original as possible but this is not very original to start with?

    Cheers!

Unclear what you mean - if the engine is the same typoe as the original, there should be no issues, although note that for a S3 it needs to have the emissions equipment required for the date of its manufacture, and this may not be on the S2a engine, but can be fitted.
