Does anyone know the correct model/spec for a replacement electronic fuel pump for my 6 cyl (original) station wagon?
It currently has a small 'cube' facet-type pump, but it is very old and struggled to self-prime last time I replaced the in-line filter on the intake side.
Because the pump is on top of the chassis under the drivers seat, drawing from a fuel tank a couple of metres away, I am thinking I need something with a bit more suck.
Any advice appreciated

No, the 6 cylinder had an electric pump. Can't remember offhand what they were standard. The distance should not be too much problem but some pumps need to be below the level of the fuel.

Arnie - 1975 710M Pinzgauer
The 6cyl s2a had a "double su type" electric pump from memory bolted to the top of the chassis rail under the drivers seat.
If ur concerned about not enought "suck" shift the pump closer to the tank. The " cube" type pump is a solid state type pump and will give you years of reliable service if you keep the filter b4 the pump inlet clean.

I can't remember the specs but got one off fleabay for 27 bucks it was just a universal low pressure facet type. Seemed to do trick. Don't know about long term reliability though but worked fine
Cheers
The original double action (pusher/puller)pump would be hard to replace now,but you could mount a "facet"type near the tank and also under the seat, that would give the required fuel pressure at the carby, otherwise you will have to source one from the UK,people like Paddocks,Land Rover & Range Rover Spares - Paddock Motors - Paddock Spares from memory.
cheers
Hello from Brisbane.
The Series 2A 6 cylinder truck that we had on the farm years ago came fitted with twin fuel tanks and had a double ended SU electric pump mounted on the chassis under the seats as suggested by a couple of earlier posts. There was a two way switch on the dash that selected the different ends depending on which tank fuel was to be drawn from.
It doesn't seem to appear in the official parts catalogue (Series 3 anyway), but can still be sourced from a few places in the UK at the usual king's ransom ($200+ plus freight).
Double-ended SU pumps seem to have once been commonly fitted to a range of English cars fitted with twin carburetors - e.g. Jaguars. So a wider search than "Land Rover" might show up something. However, you can get genuine US made facet pumps here for around $45-$55, or cheaper generic copies, which seems to be a better option.
Cheers,
max pressure needs to be under 7psi.
flow rate needs to be around 1l/min as your minimum
pretty much any facet pump is going to make the standard if you pay less than $50 for it (and if you get it from somewhere like super cheap more) and the $20-30 list price pumps are perfect, if you have the 2 tanks just fit one pump per tank and use an electric switch to pick between them with the outlets plumbed into a t piece. (the pumps have one way valves in them)
