    Crank shaft pulley question

I am restoring my 1960 S2 petrol and would like some advice on the crank shaft pulley, there is a slight groove in the shaft where the front seal will run in, is the groove acceptable enough or should I replace the pulley, they are cheep enough.. About $50 I thinkImageUploadedByTapatalk1458027549.024686.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1458027579.016363.jpg. I am concerned that the seal will leak with the slight groove ?

    Too much id say.
There is a thing called a speedy sleeve but i`m guessing a new pulley would work out cheaper in the long run

you can dev con, sand and polish
you can fill with silver solder and sand and polish.

I advise you give speedy sleeving a go because its a cheap part, if you screw it you can replace it, its a part that can be replaced easily in vehicle the speedy sleeve is only about $10 for the pully and it will give you the experience for installing a speedi sleeve when you realy need to do it as a live job.

I assume a machine shop must cut back the existing shaft to fit a sleeve ???

in this case, on the instructions on a box marked speedi sleeve and probably in a thread in the not too distant future under the title of.

Speedi sleeving a 2.25 crank pully

Just checked SKF speedi sleeves .. I didn't realise that the sleeves are pre sized and there is possibly a sleeve that will fit the shaft
