Help needed Zenith carb fix in Melbourne

Hi all. I am having lots of problems with my zenith carb and at my wits end. Not a good mechanic myself, i really need some help.does anyone know of a carb expert in Melbourne or a Landy lover with heaps of experience help me through. Happy to pay for the job to be done but its so bad the car nearly is undrivable with ridiculous fuel consumption and the acrid smoke and chugging black smoke coming from the exhaust. Any suggestions welcomed!

Sounds as if you have a bad seal at the oring. The 1 that seals the top body( to the throttle body.

I had excellent service from Mike, at the Melbourne Carburettor Centre in 180 Grange Rd Fairfield, a little while ago. 1300 227 297, my Solex completely rebuilt, magnificent job and very reasonably priced. I had to get the kit of spares online , in fact I got two; one from Roverparts and one from John Craddock.. Be sure to check if they are compatible with modern unleaded as some fuels may have ethanol in them unless you are using PULP / 98. Ethanol can melt the seals in some kits. Because the carbs wear significantly in the area of the butterfly spindle etc it is not just a matter of throwing the kit in, so you really need someone who knows what they are doing. The kits are not expensive, and Mike mixed and matched according to what parts fitted and suited my carb best.
