When I did my 80" I also made all the chassis parts except the rear X member & modified it from S2 to S1 80". [smilebigeye] It was a lot easier than making one.

Well as the series 3 is progressing I still keep a eye out for parts for the old girl
I had already found a complete 1959 engine with all the early series 2 bits on it
I now have come across a 1960 engine 151010097 that is also complete with all the early series 2 components on as well and with correct year gearbox 151010240 Fitted behind it For $150
I would say it will require a full rebuild when the time comes as it was sitting outside under a tarp and is hard to turn if at all
so she should look the part with its correct year engine and gearbox to match chassis and diffs
Also have come across a spare swan neck exhaust so now have double the spares of the early 2.25 especially 8 hole water pumps
I feel a lot better for rebuild as these early parts are getting harder to find now and I probably won’t get to it for at least another year as the series 3 taking bit longer than I thought
But old Mildred is my favourite one so can’t wait to get it done eventually https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9dcde484cd.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0981006f02.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...04a10da5df.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e9317f4719.jpg
What sort of order is your rover 6 engine in? guessing its probably knackered.
Cheers, Hamish
Had to move the old girl out the shed to sort shed, to do this had to remove all the parts I been acquiring over last few years I had not realised how much stuff fits in the back of a 88 here’s some of it and there’s a few more parts that I not taken out like complete new wiring harness and swan neck exhaust pipe can’t wait to finish the series 3 to get stuck in again

Well the orange 109 is finished and just requires a pit inspection and it will be registered hopefully so thought I do some welding on Mildred’s chassis with some help from my works Boily turned out great that’s a big job done https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4a6b69d44b.jpg

Well that’s that done all welding finished on chassis and in etch primer thought that I never get this done started the chassis over 6 years ago but the series 3 interrupted that process
It does look nice!
