    Galvanising Cappings

I'm repainting my 2a and have a question about the cappings. I'm getting them galvanised again so do I get the tub painted whilst they are off and then and then put them back, or galvanise, replace and then paint?

I would paint with them off, less masking to do, will also look better.

You don't reckon they will scratch going back on?

While my first reaction would be to paint first, then install the cappings, I should point out that the capping on top of the tub has rivets through the inside 'skirt' of the capping that show on the outside. If you paint first, these will be unpainted. This does not apply to the bits up the back corners, nor to the fuel filler surround, nor the strips on top of the door bottoms, and not really to the bit on top of the bulkhead between the seats, and certainly not to any of the fittings on the tailgate, nor the rubbing strips inside the tub. All of these I would put on after painting.
