I've been using the 2a as much as I can since getting it rego'd earlier this year. It'll be my only car so I'm testing it out a bit before I sell my defender. I took it up to the high country in the Jamieson - Mansfield area for the week knowing there was a bit of weather coming in to see how it went. I couldn't really get any action shots as I was on my own but still got a few nice pictures.
It was a really cold week and a bit of a challenge but the most snow I've seen in the area. Quite a few trees down a bigger chainsaw might be on the list soon. The ute was pretty good, no worries at all off road but really needs a bit more power on the highway. I'm thinking probably a series 3 head reco'd and gas flowed and some extractors. Hopefully that'll do the trick.

That's a neat winch setup you've got there. Did you fit it? I'm keen to have a winch built into my front bumper as well. Could you send some pics and details of what you've done.

There's probably lots of different ways to mount a winch and you can buy cradles if you don't have a welder.

I like your truck. Puts my Series III to shame. Yours even has a better paint job.I use mine as a daily driver, unfortunately it doesn't have the original innards but it still does the trick. Its probably a dumb question but is your winch electric or pto? If electrical how'd you wire it up? I'd love to see it in the flesh one day, maybe we'll see each other around.

Yep it's electric, the control box that came with it only had a bracket to mount it to a bull bar or similar, not the winch itself so I just put the control box behind the grill. The wiring is pretty straight forward, I covered all the cables with heater hose so it wouldn't rub through. I've just got a single large battery with about 750cca.I like your truck. Woods point sounds great, I'd be lucky to get to go so soon after the last trip though, we've got a 3 month old and a 5 year old. I'll have to see how I go, it'd be great to get away with some other old landies. There's lots of different tracks up that way, The hema high country map is really good for 4wding.
