    Chassis Suspension Tube

    Hi,
I’ve just knocked out the front chassis suspension bush on my S2 SWB.
The problem is that the new chassis suspension bush just slides in to the tube.....no force required.
    That can’t be right, surely?
Any thoughts on how to rectify the situation?

First thing would be to check that the bush you removed is the same size as the one you are fitting - the size did change, but I thought it was to a bigger one on Series 3.

It is possible that the bush you are fitting is undersize, but the other possibility is that the it has at some time had a nylon bush in that has worn the tube, or it has been excessively sanded to remove rust or damage on a previous occasion.

If it nearly fits, and the new bush is the correct one, my personal solution would be to put a tin shim between the bush and the chassis tube.
