Series II water Pump 501041 rare as hens teeth

Hi All, Seeking a working water pump for series II. (Not IIA). Its a 2.25L eng., The water pump casing is an 8 bolt, part number 501039, written on the housing. The whole pump assy would be p/n 501041 according to the parts catalogue I have. Correct me if wrong.

Its the rare one, so Ive found out!

Ive bought a couple hopefuls that don't fit, from incorrect communications from mate of mine, the vehicle is kept off site from me . I'm just sending him Micks info on engine number and chassis ID.

    * Can someone please point me in the right direction to maybe buy a water pump, or better still do they sell a pump overhaul kit (spindle, impeller, seal etc) to fit this particular water pump? There is a press in shed.

Is there a AULRO member that reconditions them?

    Look forward to advice Nighthawk.

I think that the 9-bolt repair kit fits the earlier pump. Hopefully someone can confirm this.

Most of the usual LR parts suppliers should stock the repair kit or order from overseas Water pump repair kit - 8/9 stud - Paddock Spares

From the link above, it's the same kit.

$17.64 plus freight from the UK vs $66 local (plus freight).
If you're buying a few parts the UK is a lower cost option.

Wasn't recommending one over the other, Colin, just pointing out that the kits seem to fit both types.

I got that link from Mike at BritRest, a youtube LR mechanic in Canada. Very approachable and helpful. He mostly does Deefers these days, but knows Series.

I'll give his channel a plug:
