Pull it to bits, the mechanism is pretty simple and is obvious how it works. It may have a broken spring or possibly just wear.

						Hi all,
My 2a Dormobile has a Tex Magna indicator switch on the steering column.
I was wondering if anyone had any advice on rebuilding it as it seems to be a little over the hill.
If I turn it on all the way to the right or left it will turn the indicator off again (like it goes past the switch) which can be troublesome as I find my self the unit more than the upcoming roundabout or turn, and had the occasional angry honk when they have to wait at it with out my indicator.
I was intending on pulling it down for a look at the connections and mechanism but thought I'd see if there's any advice before I do so.
Cheers, Cam

I had same problem with vintage switches where the the contactor became oxidized inside switch.
Worth trying a oil spray CR2-26 ( Blue can), do not use CR5-56 (Red). Spray down the shaft to access contacts while working indicator switch to polish off oxide.
If this does not work, yes you would need to totally down switch to deglaze contacts.
I think you'll find 'how to' videos etc. online.
The rubber wheel tends to decompose, they are available but you have to remove the rivets holding the wheel together and replace afterwards.
Some of the kits include screws to replace the rivets.

I have to repair the one on my Dormobile and IIa GS at some point.
I'd have to check whether indicators have to be self cancelling to pass a roady. On my Series I they have to be cancelled manually but a previous owner mounted a globe in a prominent position that shows when the indicators are working (handy reminder).
