    It also looks the same as that used in the early Minis, from my now tatty memory.

    I've heard lots of complaints about the switches not being reliable but never had a problem.
    As long as you haven't upgraded headlights without adding relays I don't know why they would fail apart from wear & tear over many years.

    The fingers that trip the switch back to neutral from left or right can break off but most issues are from overheating at the rivetted connections due to current draw.
