Was outbid on ebay last week by Scrap merchant. It appears the SIIa I had my eyes on for parts (No engine, '67 ute.) was worth more as scrap.

Fortunately the owner decided that he could not let it be mulched and turned into coke cans so cancelled the sale.

 I paid for it today.

It would appear that, with the mining boom, the cost of scrap metal has shot up too. (Especially ALUMINIUM). Be warned scap merchants are targeting old Land Rovers for their high Al content. If this keeps up we will no longer see the $500 ebay bargains and spare parts will become scarcer. Love your landie – it’s an endangered species
