Not quite true. The flat apron remained for the first year of SIIa production and was to change to curved ones by mid '62. As did the Chrome convex surface mount headlamps to recessed mounted ones.
Except that these headlights continued to be fitted to Australian 2as, probably until the lights were moved to the mudguards, as part of the Australian content, although the parts book lists the change as from Suffix 'B' on. Still fitted to my 1970 2a.
It is likely that other parts also continued in Australia (and other CKD markets) as well, for the same reason.
