Lost my indicators and the fuel gauge

Just when I thought that everything was fine with my Series I have just lost my indicators and fuel gauge.

I am posting this in the hope that someone else has had the same issue and can answer it for me quickly Prior to this event the fuel sender had been noisy, like it was rattling around inside the tank.

It was noisiest when it was almost empty, also I have just replaced the dash lights with LED ones so I was thinking that maybe I have a short somewhere?

Other than that I have no idea what it could be, I haven't looked yet, but where are the fuses on these beasts?

    Thanks in advance guys.

The fuse (note the use of the singular - there are actually two but in most vehicles only one is used, the other is for optional interior lights) is under a black cover on the engine side of the bulkhead near the voltage regulator. And yes, this fuse supplies the fuel gauge.

LOL 1 fuse, I love these cars. I found the fault, the right front indicator was full of water and sand and the bulb glass had come away from the filament causing a short circuit.

This had made me decide to finally check the wiring and replace all the perished double connection thingys which no doubt will cause a short sooner or later.

Thx heaps for solving this one
