What was the deal with your clutch and the 100 attempts to bleed it? I'm about to fit a brand new master cylinder to mine (already done the slave and flushed the lines) just wondered what was the trouble with yours?
Comparasin of the remade bumperett against old one that has suffered from trips many years ago to Frazer :-(
Also painting up the spare wheel carrier and just refitted the corner wrap arounds.

Well apart from trying to do by myself, the clutch master cyl is a few years old, I only replaced the slave because it was leaking.
The master was sticky and had some gung buildup, once that was cleared and the piston freed it started to take up and bleed properly.
With all new parts yours should bleed easily.

That was the problem with mine, I started to bleed after replacing a leaking slave and the first few pumps were good, then the pedal just lost all pressure, pulled the top cover off above the master cylinder and under the rubber seal looked like cake (strangely the same cake that Holden uses for its Barina radiator components so as soon as they get wet or hot they turn to mush - but I'm not going to bag the barina here, it gives me something to get to work until the Land Rover is ready - as soon as the darn rain stops in Brissy).
I'd guess from sitting for an extended period of time the components have just turned to mush. Surprising they worked well enough to drive the car but it is a testament to British engineering I guess. And the great part is that a new master is less than $60 so why would you even bother trying to rebuild the old one for that money especially with something like a clutch which is used all the time. Cost me less for a new master and slave than my last jap car cost just for a slave alone. Gotta love the Landy!
Haha its done, the game is registered
Friday the 12th I was able to take it in for its rego, it may have been monsoonal rains on the day but apart from single speed wipers and every window fogging up I made it
Now the after rego things to sort out, rear brakes drag a bit (might be the back hose getting old) and the rear springs sagging worse than expected
Also the front brakes wail like a banchee, ouch
Other than that I love it and the Roverdrive works a treat
Oh and not to forget the invaluable help from Dad, he has helped me out alot along the way

Well done Wardy and dad, you're an inspiration![]()
Well done, looks great.![]()
You must be one happy chappy Wardy, top job. Love the rego. plates too.

Sill believe they are the best LR and the wife thinks the same. With the roverdrive I screwed a vent in the transfer case, because on long trip it when it heated up it forced oil out of the gasket where it bolts on other wise it was a good investment
Gave the GAME a test today, pulled a mates Game out of the paddock and up onto hard ground to asses it and start its renovation.
Even though it was a bit boggy with all the rain up here the game performed very well, but will have to pull the back springs out to get reset, they settled to almost flat!
