    Rear lighting question

Hi to all you experts with a bit more knowledge than me - hopefully you can clear this one up for me?

I have a Series III LWB 1975 model. Just giving it the once over for a roadworthy (Qld). What are the 2 clear lenses at the rear of the car? Are they reverse lights or parking lights? If they are parkers, why are they white (should be red as it is illegal to show a white light to the rear except a reverse light)? And what switches them on?

    Any help would be appreciated.

clear lenses are reverse but they could put out a dull light and that is your parkers

They are reverse lights - the tail & brake lights are combined under the red lens. I'm pretty sure that the reverse lights use a slightly different size lens to the parkers/indicators/stop, too.

I can't remember of the top of my head how they're connected, presumably there is a switch on the gearbox for them?

I hope the 2 pics I have attached help, the reverse switch draws its power from the fuse box fuse 6 or 8, as in the workshop manual.

    Thanks Northern Lander

Ta for the pics, now I know where to look for the switch - the original probably stopped working so someone has wired them up to a switch on the dash. Don't know if they will let it through roadworthy like that, probably depends how much they know about landys.
