Buy the universal type that are ribbed down the outside just measure your outlet and inlet pipe size

Another solution would be to bend a bit of wire to the shape that you want, measure the Radiator inlet and thermo outlet.

If they are the same size , find a hose the correct length and the same number of curves, not necessarily in the same direction. Get a bit of pipe the correct ID from a muffler shop/plumber , cut the hose in the middle and sleeve it with the pipe to adjust the curves.

If the stubs are different diameters, buy 2 hoses with the correct curves , get a bit of pipe to fit the smaller then take it to a muffler shop and have him stretch the pipe to the correct diameter of the larger..
Or you could have a radiator shop put in a different size stub to suit the other end.
I personally would do it one of these ways as I always think that convoluted hoses will sooner or later let go at the worst time.

Wouldn't it be nice if someone like Chazza were to cast us up some Holden thermostat housing tops where the outlet came straight up instead of out to the LHS.

That way the top hose would be a single bend.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I had a different top tank that located the inlet on the side of the t/stat outlet. Top hose was basically just a 90 deg.

Thanks mate, top photo very helpful. Looks like possibly may be able to find an off the self hose maybe adapt old Holden hose set up. Also I want to connect the heater up. Did you use an aftermarket heater tap? Can I adapt lets say a Ford type? and can 5/8 hoses be adapted to fit the standard Landy heater box?

You should be able to get an in line 5/8 inch heater tap from Repco and use a choke cable to operate it. If the store has a Mackay hoses catalogue it gives dimensions and pics of all australian made radiator hoses.

Personally I would fabricate a new thermostat housing out of plate and pipe to point straight up, shouldn't be hard. IMO grey holden motors had one that pointed up.

I never worried about a cable for the heater tap. Just turned it on when it started to et cold and in spring turned it off.

Lucky you! Where I live I turn off the a/c and turn on the heater as I climb the hill to home. Very 4 seasons-a-day stuff. I have the log fire going tonight.
