Very spiffy ;)
I've been following this thread with great interest. It's addictive! Can't wait to see how it all looks when it's all back together. :)

I never ended up getin some ring expanders i just got an old pair of pointed long nose pliers & filed the outside of the point flat on each side & they did the job..
Banjo,
I don't know whether to thank you or curse you, but either way you've inspired me to keep my old SIII and actually give her the care and attention she deserves. Who knows, maybe one day you'll see a thread on here about my rebuild. I can assure you it will be a far more long-winded and far less professional affair, but I'll give it a crack all the same.
Fantastic work so far. Keep it up.
James
Well i have'nt made much progress with Harry since the green one died BROKE a valve spring so while i had the head off i did the rings as well as i already did all the barrings & seals so now everything is new & since i had the head off for the first time I found out it has the inserts for ULP in the valves so was happy to find that out..
Got the pistons in Harry's engine ..I was to comfy with it thinking it was a blue engine cause it was painted blue But its not its a red engine only has a 9 port head not the 12 port of the 202..
Painted these so they can go on..

But now have to look into the engine some more as when i put the pistone in most of the rod bolts did up ok but had a few that broke so dont know if its cause the barrings are flogged out or just old & week bolts..NOT HAPPY JANNE..
The pistons where 60 tho over so have know idea as to why they where'nt stamped..But got me some letter & nuber stamps so i'll do that some time to..
Cool photo. Hope you don't mind
