Checked the can and it is Diggers brand paint remover. See the product link page here:

I'd definitely buy it again next time I need to do some. Haven't tried it on bodywork like you have to strip Banjo, but wheel paint is pretty tough and it handles that well. forgot to add that for smaller areas you can't go past the old primus gas torch with paint stripping attachment.

I asked a paint shop and they told me I'd need automotive paint stripper, real heavy duty stuff, about $40 for a tin. Looked at Bunnings and they told me the $35 a can Selleys stuff is the only one that would do it.

Typically I ignored both lots of advice and bought a litre can of the cheap stuff for $8 from Bunnings, says on the can it does domestic, automotive and industrial paint, comes in a yellow can I think with a red childproof cap, green gel consistency to the stripper.

Bloody brilliant stuff. 2 applications to completely strip the multi layered rim, first go took about 4 layers off, second go and a scrub with the rough wire scourers you get for cleaning pots and pans and it was back to bare metal, hit it with the gerni to clean it off and a quick wire brush and it was ready to paint. Worked the same on all the other rims too. I'll find the brand if you like.

I've also used it to clean army paint overspray off some id plates, takes the paint but doesn't harm the printing on the plate. Smells a bit but don't they all? Paint bubbles and wrinkles pretty quickly with this. Stripped 4 rims, 2 applications each and still have about half the can there.

Yep the wife had to go out near bunnings today so told her to have a look for some..She found & got me a ltr tin but it was'nt $8 here it was $15.
But i'll give it a go over the weekend. I'm looking into doing some power steering kits .But not sure if its going to be viable as the steering shaft has to have a traverse harding test & an xray to be ok for engineering & that costs $300 on its own.& the kits would be around $1200 + maybe depending on if people want me to suply everything or if they want to get some stuff like steering column.I use a early range rover column but could use a disco column to i guess..Depends on how many people will want one & HOW many people will pay for it..

    That's a joke Banjo.

Just goes to show the differences the same retailer charges for the same product, from the same supplier. I wonder if you could pull the "if you find a lower price elsewhere we will beat it by 5%" card when it is the same company.

    Diggers Paint Stripper

This is the one that I posted about before. . . .
In my experience it was not very effective at all in removing paint from the Land Rover guards.
Only after repeated applications and a lot of scrubbing and scraping did the old paint come off. But not all of it. Some of the paint has still not bubbled up.
I don't agree with the manufacturers' claims of 'industrial strength'. After all it is biodegradable (water wash-up). I definitely wouldn't buy it again.

This looks like a dulled down environmentally friendly version. The one I used was not the "plus" version like yours, not biodegradable etc. I think mine was the raw and unrefined stinky burn your hands type. According to the manufacturers website there is a normal and a plus version. The normal doesn't boast any environmental benefits but gets the job done.

Yeah the one i got is a yellow tin & has industrial on it..
I use a bit this morning its not to bad I did'nt scuff the paint first just applied it the paint bubbled straight away , I think if i scuffed it first it would be better & i did'nt notice to much of a smell.I only working in a 3m X 3m garden shed & was able to use it in there with no dramas.I'll get a pic of the tin later. The usual stuff i use i HAVE TO use it out side as i kinder get head spins iff in the shed.
Worst part about alloy is even when you use paint stripper you still have to sand it so the etch primer will stick.
