Ok a small update have'nt got much done lately cause of the weather & fiddle fartin with other stuff in the yard..

So started on the bonnet with that crappy 3M paint stripper & sanding..

Been scrapping all the sound deadner off the underside of the floor panels when its been raining..

Been working on the tray the last couple of days so i can finish that , Paint it & get it back on out of the way..I'm cutting down the width of it as its way to wide & sticks out heaps wider then the car NOW it will be the same width as the car (body)..

Cutting the floor out..

These sides will be droped down so the floor is flat without these which are 70mm high they will be welded on the ends of the cross bars i will also drill a hole behind then for the tiedown rail will run through the cross bars aswell..And i mite make new side for it aswell out of the originals but not as high..

OH JOY its sposed to be raining tomorrow again..GGGGRRRRR

On the bonnet where it has that lip down in the middle I mite paint it black maybe , It would look like old style scallops as such .So orange bonnet With the lip only painted black . Any thoughts ??

Just for you Aus .. I been busy working on the tray..Its now narrower by 4 plus inches each side now its the same width as the body..

Ok started & cut the sides off

Then cut the sides off the rear..

You can see how much has been cut out here..

Welding them all back together

Changed the shape of the rear corners

Tierails are in there in behind the side rails & cant be seen from side & dont hang down

Cut the floor to shape.Its so heavy but i didnt want to spend on a new thinner floor can use the money elsewhere like a shelter..But i swear the floor is off a semi trailer..

Floor welded on fully seem welded right around & stitched on the underside..

Started the headboard & its seem welded to..

Went over the headboard & floor with the big wire wheel on the big grinder , then painted the floor & headboard..Still have underside & sides but i want to run a flap disc over the sides first plus it will be sat on its side to paint underside..

Hoping i can get it on the car tomorrow maybe..
I have an idea with the lights on the back but need a brandnew one first or if someone has a new one could you measure the diameter of it with the rubber on.. I'm thinking of counter sinking the blinkers on the sides just near the new corner with the brake & tail light & putting 2 parkers in the center for reverse lights..but need the exact measurement..

Um yeah that would of been helpfull to say eh!.
Standard series 3 lights for now unless i find something else..

I haven't done anything on mine - I've been working on this: Before and After Pics

If you are interested, look up Hella 2401. I have a couple here brand new and still in their box. I reckon they would look good on the back of a ute.

I have seen them on the back of some Army Land Rovers down here.

If you want them, let us know.
